Our company is seeking a Senior Interior Designer with advanced knowledge and experience with high-rise residential projects for Ontario and Alberta markets. With your keen eye for design, experienced use of colour selection, textiles, and finishes you would manage the project coordination and skillfully negotiate with clients to produce beautiful building interiors on time and budget. Your more than 8 years of experience would see you collaboration with other project managers, Associates, Principals, and Partners in tandem encouraging the clients vision through your well-developed design into completing complex building projects with design excellence. Utilizing your accumulated knowledge, and understanding of building codes regulation including your strong technical knowledge you will oversee the project deliverable and establish the project direction and schedules.
In consideration of your high calibre expertise, good design principles, and spacial planning you would lead interior design projects demonstrating your wealth of experience and knowledge to projects to champion the design intent from a client’s concept to completion. Our successful candidate would also have strong software knowledge of Revit, 3Ds Mas or other rendering software with strong understanding of development of materials and details, FF&E to help build and develop standards used for enhancing project drawings. Through collaboration and team work you will help support more junior co-workers through the processes and understanding needed to mentor their growth and development, fostering a learning and adaptive environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Leading working drawings and chairing meeting for coordination with consultants.
• Strong progressive working and drafting skills using Revit.
• Produce sketches and spatial programming layouts as required;
• Research information relating to project concepts and design direction;
• Oversee all details of the project from concept and schematic design phases to project completion;
• Be a proactive participant in all design meetings and internal team meetings, sharing your knowledge and experience and mentoring those less experienced.
• Leading projects and attending client meetings and coordination of team members to resolve design issues, questions or concerns furthering deep business relationships.
• Meticulous attention to detail when reviewing projects and any specifications, details and shop drawings;
• Advanced knowledge to research and source furniture, fixtures & equipment (FF&E) with consideration to project vision and budget;
• Manage and facilitate in the colour selection process;
• Advanced working knowledge of InDesign Photoshop and/or Illustrator, or good knowledge of sketch up, 3D rendering software or AutoCAD, would be an asset.
• In a manner to support new business opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Interior Design, or equivalent.
• ARIDO licence, NCIDQ certification and or LEED certification.
• Six years working in the industry.
• Advanced product plus practical knowledge of materials, millwork and construction detailing, functional planning, a strong practices and methods for interior design.
• Excellent understanding of construction techniques, engineering principles, methods and technical problem solving.
• Advance understanding of building codes and knowledge of building systems for construction processes.
• Exceptional communication, mentoring, and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
• Highly organized with strong time management, excellent communication and presentation skills able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated with the ability to collaborate within a diverse team.
• Excellent customer service, analytical, organizational and technical skills.
• Possess a creative, optimistic approach, self-motivated, and is action-oriented.
• Strong ability to visualize and create strong FF&E documents.
• Accustomed to working in a fast‐paced, deadline-oriented environment.
