Amica Credit Mills is a fully integrated seniors living and continuing care community in Mississauga, designed to support accessibility, dignity, and health transitions across all stages of aging. From the outset, we structured the building to accommodate a comprehensive continuum of care, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, and premium independent suites, each carefully planned to respond to evolving physical, cognitive, and social needs.
Our architectural approach prioritizes clarity, comfort, and intuitive wayfinding, organizing suites and shared spaces to enable residents to navigate the building with confidence and ease. Thoughtful spatial planning, clear sightlines, and strategic adjacencies support both resident independence and operational efficiency. A diverse range of amenity spaces, including a bistro, formal and private dining rooms, theatre, fitness centre, and pool, are integrated throughout the building to encourage social engagement and active living. We designed accessible, resident-centered environments, where architectural detailing, lighting strategies, and circulation patterns work together to support mobility and inclusivity at every level.
The project also incorporates Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) to improve delivery efficiency, quality, and long-term performance. This includes the use of a panelized EIFS system (LIDO) at the upper levels, complemented by a durable brick base across two bays. This approach enabled faster construction, enhanced envelope performance, and a refined architectural expression that balances material durability with contemporary design.
