Postmark Hotel

Hotel, Heritage
Location 180 Main Street, Newmarket, Ontario
Phase Completed
Collaborators Streetcar Developments
Gross Floor Area 9627 sq.ft.

The Newmarket Post Office was first opened over 100 years ago, along with other local shops and business that turned Main Street into bustling for hub of merchants, artisans and residents. The post office’s heritage comes from the memories created as part of the town’s public realm – a place remembered for connecting the community at social gatherings and through exchanges of daily life since 1914.

Fast forward to the 21st century and we’ve continued its legacy. Partnering with Streetcar_Developments, KIRKOR transformed the historic Newmarket Post Office and its Clock Tower into a boutique hotel while preserving its character and commitment to connecting the community. KIRKOR carefully retained the three-storey red-brick structure, and behind it, designed a matching addition to enhance the heritage site into a contemporary place to stay the night, host events, and enjoy drinks and farm-fresh dishes.

We join in sending our congratulations as the Postmark Hotel celebrated its official grand opening on October 3, 2024. It was a pleasure to honor the town’s history and Design Living for a new generation, creating a lively space that invites both locals and visitors to connect, indulge, and create even more memories.
