Westwood Gardens is a mixed-use residential community located at Yonge Street and Westwood Lane in Richmond Hill. Designed by KIRKOR for Collecdev, the development features two 15-storey residential towers atop 5- and 7-storey podiums, bringing approximately 370 homes, retail uses, and extensive resident amenities to one of the GTA’s most connected transit-oriented neighbourhoods.
Responding to both the vibrant Yonge Street corridor and adjacent low-rise residential communities, we designed terraced podiums, step-backs, and carefully articulated massing to create a pedestrian-friendly streetscape while providing a respectful transition in scale. Contemporary precast concrete, stone cladding, and expansive glazing establish a refined architectural identity that enhances the public realm and contributes to Richmond Hill’s evolving urban character.
At the heart of the development is a landscaped central courtyard designed as a private garden oasis and community gathering space. Surrounded by fitness, wellness, recreation, and social amenities, the courtyard fosters a strong connection between architecture and landscape while supporting an active and engaging resident lifestyle.
Sustainability is integral to the project, with a geothermal energy system that significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions and water consumption, complemented by landscaped green roofs and an optimized building envelope that improves energy performance and resident comfort.
